Em (sometimes known as Elf) was inspired to create Weirdigans' precursor The Coffee Bean by the lack of hot drinks at Crickstock Festival 2002.
" We're not all beer monsters" and "my hands are cold" she complained. Then exclaimed - " It must never happen again! I'll provide tea and coffee for people like me from now on".
So she did - and also ended up marrying Crickstock organiser Dave Brooks...
A Jack-of-all-trades, Em has been on the festival circuit for over 15 years in various guises; trader, steward, therapist, performer. She's also a medical herbalist, a mostly-unpublished writer, a sometimes barmaid and a would-be gardener (if only she could stay in one place long enough). Em has spent more time living in vans, tents and huts than in houses. She used to work in a detox-retox spa-bar on a beach in Thailand, but has more recently fulfilled her wanderlust exploring Southern Europe.
