A long-term inhabitant of Hebden Bridge, and one of the founders of the Housing Co-op there, Smiley Dave married Em in 2005. His electrical skills have turned Weirdigans' festival front room into a faerie-lit wonderland. He's built an LED lighting rig and a 12-volt ambient music system which run off solar power, and he's forever tinkering and improving on it. In the off-season Dave spends some of his time working with children and students, teaching them about the environment, sustainable power, climate change, tree-planting and woodland crafts.
